Whether you are one of them or not, we all know that person in our lives, a family member or that friend, the ridiculously clean and organized one. No matter how small their studio sized apartment is, they somehow manage to keep their home in immaculately clean and in perfect shape.
One has to look deeper than the clean floors, dust free cabinets, and well organized furniture to find out the real hidden secrets of the trade.
1. They secure storage outside their home
This might seem a bit on the excessive side but think about it, why would you want to clutter your living space with useless possessions that you might never use? Securing an outside storage might actually be one of the smartest strategies to clean up your home. Most condominiums already come with a separate storage space allocated for each unit, and if you are one of those lucky ones, USE it. Put away your out of season Christmas decorations, your unused clothes and shoes in suitcases, or even your mother's flower vases that she gave you for your last birthday. I mean who needs all of that collecting dust in your cramped apartment in the first place? And if you are one of those that don't have the storage space, rent one, or ask to use a close friend's unused basement.
2. They are good at hiding things
From a distance it might seem that the whole place is a show-home, but look under the sofa and you will enter another world. When you live in such limited space, every crevice must become your best friend. It means that the empty floor under your bed, the space under your sink, the closet in your hallway must all be filled with things. Be creative, look for secretive spots throughout your apartment and stuff them up, just make sure they are out of plain sight and you will be surprised by the amount of space you will find to fill. Some of today's modern furniture also comes with hidden storage space so use it all, just make sure you make a list or remember where you put everything in case you ever need to find it later on.
3. They don't hoard useless objects
In the Western material world that we live in, it is not hard to acquire a container full of possessions that one can literally open a thrift store with. Just look around at all the garage sales popping up around your neighborhood on the weekends and think of all the useless crap you see for sale. Then ask yourself, why did I buy this useless vibrating machine belt thing in the first place? Did I seriously think it would make me loose weight by just watching it sit in my living room, if not, then why am I still tripping on in every night I go to the bathroom? Seriously, take it outside and put a free sign on it right now, you will thank me later. Neat people only acquire things that they really need, they don't just buy things because they are on sale. They hold on to things that they really love or actually have use for, the rest is either donated, sold or given away for free. They don't get attached to material possessions, and nor should you, just let them go.
4. They outsource the help of others
Chances are that most organized people surround themselves with others just like them. Whether it is a husband, a girlfriend, or simply their roommates, the probability is that they use somebody's help and are not afraid to ask for it. They divide the chores, and use the limited time they have very efficiently to complete the necessary tasks at hand. If you live on your own and can afford it, hiring a housekeeper to help you a few times a month can be another solution.
5. They know it is part of life
Organized people don't have illusions, they know that things will eventually get messy no matter how clean and tight their place might seem at the moment. They know it is not a one time deal, yes you cleaned today but that doesn't mean you don't have to worry about it for the next month. If you want a clean and cozy home then you work at it, you get on your knees and scrub that floor, you iron those curtains and organize your closet space. Don't wait to be in the perfect mood to start cleaning up, just as you brush your teeth in the morning, organized people know it is part of daily life, they want a clean organized home so they work at it, one room at a time.
When living in a studio, or a small 1 bedroom apartment storage eventually becomes an issue. Where do we put our belongings, which we tend to accumulate more and more with time? Developers, who build these new urban dwellings don't seem to care much about where people are going to store their items.
This is why smart furniture is becoming a necessity - we need to have furniture, which can serve double duty purpose. Products such as folding and expanding tables, folding chairs, wall beds, beds with hidden storage compartments and more similar items are increasingly what people look for. There are a number of companies starting to address this demand and they now offer innovative multi-functional solutions. Here are some options which would work for your extra storage needs:
Bed storage is probably most needed as people have duvets, pillows and blankets, which take a loot of room and usually can't be stored in a limited closet space, which barely fits all of our clothes. This is why having extra storage under the bed is essential. A good idea may be to vacuum seal the bulky items such as pillows or winter duvets when you need to put them away. This way you'd be able to make the most of your storage space. Ikea has some good options for a very affordable price.
Living room clutter seems to be another hassle for most of us. Where do you put your books, magazines, remote controls, laptop, cables, coasters, etc.? Coffee tables with integrated storage are the perfect solution to this problem. The Malka table offers three storage compartments and two lifting leaves, which makes it easy to put away small items and technology used every day. The lifting leaves allow for two people to use the table at the same time - either as a dining space or a work surface for your laptop while sitting comfortably on your sofa.
Today the model of buying furniture is shifting more towards online shopping, and not so much visiting big old fashioned furniture chains, which tend to sell the same kind of products. More and more people like to search the net, watch video demonstrations and compare prices online before making a decision to buy or visit a showroom in person.
However, not many stores like to post their prices online and it may be difficult to obtain that info, thus making the process of choosing furniture more time consuming and frustrating. This is why Save Space Furniture has posted all its products and prices on the website, so shoppers can compare and make an informed decision. Here is a price comparison between our popular Rio table and the very similar (if not identical) models sold at Expand Furniture and Calligaris:
Save Space Furniture
Richmond, Canada - Rio table
Vancouver, Canada - Transofming Table Space Saver
Vancouver, Canada - Expand Table
Toronto, Canada - Magic J Table
Based on this comparison, it is clear that the modern multi-functional furniture retailers in the market still keep their prices quite high compared to many regular furniture stores, selling mass produced furniture. This is probably due to the fact that multi-functional furniture is still relatively harder to find and is considered "unique" and "luxury" goods. Our goal at Save Space Furniture is to make these types of products more accessible and affordable for consumers, because chances are if you are in need of such furniture, you live in a small space, not in a mansion and you don't want to spend extra money just because you want more functionality.
This price comparison is taken from the companies' September 2016 websites info, so it may change in the future. We cannot comment on the quality of each item, but since our competitors are selling at much higher prices than us, we would expect them to at least meet Save Space Furniture's quality, for which we can guarantee.
Please feel free to post comments or add info for similar products that you find online.
Has the dining table become an obsolete furniture item in today's modern home? Many families today skip eating a formal meal because of busy schedules, and end up eating their meals on the go or sited in front of their TV screens. Others however, particularly who live in small modern condos don't have the necessary square footage to fit a formal dining table, and thus are forced to eat dinner on the couch or the coffee table.
This modern problem has a modern solution, with the multi functional, expanding coffee to dining table sets from Save Space Furniture.
Coffee to Dining Tables
Homeowners who are looking for both aesthetics and functionality and where maximizing the existing space is a must, the perfect option would be an expanding coffee to dining table. The "Largenta" table for example (priced at $1,490CAD*) has a beautiful design that will surely add a more modern look to your existing space. Its clean lines, high quality materials and functionality are just some of the benefits that can make this table a great investment for today's modern home.
At it's lowest height, the table sits well within the parameters of a normal coffee table. When time comes for dinner, just simply raise the table up by the bottom lever and its chrome, metal legs will extend up. Release the lever when you reach the desired height, and now you have a great looking formal dining table ready for use. It can expand sideways on each end, and sit up to 10 people at a time. All the extension panels are hidden underneath discreetly when not used in its extended mode.
The chrome legs have small wheels on each end, therefore making the table quite mobile in case you need to move it to another room.
Making an investment in such a modern, functional, transforming table can help you convert any small room, or apartment into a much more useful and appealing space for dining and entertainment at the same time.
Not only are all modern expanding tables made easy to use, but are also very stylish and use the latest mechanical technologies to help you maximize the existing space.
For example, the Rio Table ($595CAD*), or the Dayana Expanding Table ($898CAD*) both have attractive, elegant modern designs. Although they are different in form, both serve the same purpose, to save you space and make your home feel more elegant. Each is made of high quality materials, and are made to last a very long time. Many of the tables come in various colors and surface materials which are very easy to clean and take care of. Almost all of the tables' leg materials are of high quality chrome metal finish, and can be easily matched with your home's existing furniture.
Built to Last
Many of today's manufacturers sell contemporary looking furniture with simple designs. However most are made of cheap materials and many of their mechanisms are of very poor quality. At first, a customer might be tempted by the low price and good looking design, but a year later find out that their purchase was a total ripoff when the particular peace no longer does the job it is supposed to do.
We at Save Space Furniture, are proud to offer a wide selection of expanding, transforming dining tables made of only the highest quality materials and parts. All of our furniture is offered at very competitive prices.
Simply browse our shop to find out the perfect functional furniture for your home. We have a great selection of transforming, space saving furniture that will expand your home's space, and help you save tons of money.

We've all been in that situation when we invite guests over, you prepare the perfect meal, set the table and realize that there is just not enough room to fit everyone comfortably in one place. In fact who would want to keep a large dining table in their home especially if you live in a small apartment or condo, and it is just you and your partner who live there. It would waste much valuable space which could be used for other things during the day such as work, study, entertainment or exercise.
The perfect space saving solution comes from the "Infinity Dining Table" sold by Save Space Furniture. It is ideal for homes with limited space, such as small condos, studio apartments or even a business setting such a conference room or the office.
How Does It Work?
The Infinity is quite unique. At first glance one would be surprised to realize that the table is able to expand to such lengths. At its shortest, the table spans only 19.5 inches in length, composed only of the frame (no panels) which can be neatly placed near a wall for decorative purposes as a console table. In total, the dining table comes with four lightweight extension panels, each is 20 inches in length. Depending on your needs, each panel is placed between the main frame of the table to form the top frame (not as complicated as it sounds). If you place a single panel, the table would comfortably fit two people, and would be enough for everyday use in an average sized room in a modern condo. If however more room is needed on your table, and guests come over that's no problem, simply extend the two side frames of the table and you would be able to add more of the lightweight panels that come with the Infinity table. The maximum total length of the table is 98 inches or over 8ft in length with all four panels added. At this length the table will accommodate about 10 people.
Design and Simplicity
The Infinity table is very lightweight and easy to move around the home if needed. With its sleek clean line design and white high-gloss lacquer finish make this piece a delight for every home. The extension mechanism is made of high grade aluminum, and so is the middle supporting leg, which is cleverly positioned to spin around when all panels are places in their position, thus it does not get in the way of the person seated right in front of it.
